The easiest ones to get are 50 1H, 50 polearm, and 50 riding. If I want a companion or family member to be a governor eventually, I usually aim for 50 1H, 150 polearm, 150 bow, 50 riding, 175 Athletics, 150 Steward. This will give +2.5 militia, +1 security, +2 loyalty, +0.5 prosperity, and some decent tax, wage, and village bonuses.
Increase smithing with them. It is the easiest skill to level and has skills at 175 and 225 that increase other skills. Then when that is maxed, you should have extra focus points to dump into stuff. Go into stewardship as it is the second easiest to level.

I found auto complete the slowest way tbh. If you just go into a battle and press all troops then f6 it makes you give a bunch of AI commands that level your tactics quickly.
